I have a different sort of client coming in this week. It's a woman who I already worked with before on a "driving phobia." That session went well.

Now, however, she needs help of a different sort. She has no children, her first baby was carried to term, and died right after birth. Then she had a miscarriage. The doctors think she is fine, physically. She is fearful and distraught, and filled with all kinds of negative emotions, worry, stress, fear. I haven't helped her deal with any of that (yet). Now, she's just found out that she's pregnant again and she wants to do all she can to insure a healthy baby.

Has anyone of my professional friends here dealt with this kind of issue before? What resources would be useful to her? Special ideas? I figure we need to address the past first, release those emotions, then pump her up with confidence, peace and comfort, and suggest her body does what it knows how to do, naturally.

Hey all, its been a minute since I've posted here. Before I get on to the subject at hand, I'll give a small update on to whats been happening with me.

Recently I found out about something known as Sigils in 'Chaos Magick'. I decided to use a sigil to quit drinking, and I've been sober for close to 3 1/2 weeks so far!!! I can go to a bar and not be bothered by people drinking. I might get a small urge but I remind myself "ah its no big deal..." and I also remember making the sigil...then the urges go away.

Also, I have talked to a nlp/hypnotherapist who is pretty well known about coming out to Kauai to do a training and so far it looks good. If anyone wants details just pm me, as I don't think I'm allowed to post it in the thread. I'll just say that this persons approach is a mix of nlp, magick and ritual. This should let you know who it is.

What Takes Place At A Hypnotherapy Session?

Hypnotherapy schools are very different in the way that they teach their students. The session will consist of an initial interview and then the hypnotherapy session itself.
The hypnotherapy session will be different according to the training that the therapist has taken. Therapists will start with the initial interview, then a hypnotherapy induction followed by a deepening process. When sufficient depth is achieved then the therapy takes place which is then followed by an emerging technique to exit hypnosis. Some therapists will use either use progressive relaxation techniques, instant inductions, rapid inductions or shock inductions. I prefer using induction methods created by the legendary Dave Elman.
My belief is that the number of therapy sessions for most problems should be as brief as possible, in most cases one or two sessions should be all that are needed. It has to also be said that the number of sessions needed is dependent upon the skill and expertise of the therapist. I personally think that if you look at the way that Gerald Kein works you will see hypnotherapy at its absolute best.
In my experience it is essential that excellent rapport is achieved between client and therapist and that a thorough pretalk is given to alleviate any misconceptions or fears. An experienced therapist that really understands what hypnosis is will be actually be working whilst doing the pretalk itself. I use waking hypnosis all the time and have found the results to be incredible,

Ian Smith.

Quays Clinic Of Hypnotherapy.
http://www.quaysclinic.co.uk.
